PPRNCanada is dedicated to advancing pharmacy practice and improving health outcomes for all Canadians by engaging in community-based health services research.

Our network brings together researchers, clinicians, patients, and public partners from diverse backgrounds and regions across Canada.

Formed as a collaboration between three Canadian Universities, and with financial support from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (Institute Community Support Program) we are committed to driving innovation in practice and improving patient health outcomes. â€‹â€‹

Our team comprises passionate researchers, clinicians, and public partners, all working towards the common goal of advancing pharmacy practice and health services research across Canada.

Tiffany Lee Photo

Tiffany Lee

 BSc(Pharm), PharmD, PhD(c)

Dr. Lee is an Assistant Professor at Memorial University School of Pharmacy and an anticoagulation management pharmacist with Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services. Dr. Lee provides strategic leadership and oversees the network's operations and research initiatives.

Ross Tsuyuki

Ross Tsuyuki 

BSc(Pharm), PharmD, MSc, FCSHP, FACC, FCAHS, ISHF

​Dr. Tsuyuki is a pharmacist and a Professor of Medicine in Cardiology in the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry at the University of Alberta. His interests are in health services research in cardiovascular medicine. He is currently president of Hypertension Canada and co-lead of the PPRN Canada team.

Stephanie Gysel Photo

Stephanie Gysel

BScPharm, PharmD, CDE, CTH, APA

 Dr. Gysel is a practicing community pharmacist, owner of Apothecare Pharmacy in Calgary, and a post-doctoral fellow with the University of Alberta Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry. She is passionate about the profession of pharmacy and has created many novel clinical community pharmacy programs that improve patients' health outcomes.

Jaris Swidrovich Photo

Jaris Swidrovich

BSP, PharmD, PhD

Dr. Swidrovich is an Assistant Professor and Indigenous Engagement Lead in the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Toronto. He is a queer, Two Spirit, First Nations (Saulteaux) and Ukrainian pharmacist from Yellow Quill First Nation. His primary areas of research and practice include pain, HIV/AIDS, substance use disorders, 2SLGBTQ+ health, and Indigenous Peoples’ health.

Garreth is a NunatuKavut Inuit from Labrador, a PhD candidate in Community Health, an avid health and fitness entrepreneur, and a volunteer with NL SUPPORT. Garreth is an integral member of the PPRN Canada team, bringing many perspectives to team.

Lisa is a teaching and learning assistant with NLSchools. She is passionate about making a difference in the lives of individuals and families, and is dedicated to improving patient outcomes through collaboration and patient centred care.

PharmD Student

Ann is a final year Doctor of Pharmacy student and research assistant at Memorial University School of Pharmacy. She is passionate about improving rural health care services, implementing clinical guidelines in patient care, and advocating for the pharmacy profession.

Sharon Makedenge Photo

Sharon Makedenge

MSc Pharmacy Student

Sharon is a master's student and research assistant at Memorial University School of Pharmacy. Her interests are in health services research and her thesis focuses on examining the acceptability of a blood pressure screening initiative in community pharmacies from the patient's perspective.

NL Support

Chelsey McPhee holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Toronto Metropolitan University and a Master of Applied Psychological Science from Memorial University. She is a doctoral student in the Faculty of Medicine at Memorial University and works as the Patient/Public Engagement and Capacity Development Lead with NL SUPPORT/Quality of Care NL, which furthers the national Strategy for Patient-Oriented Research under the Canadian Institutes of Health Research.
